My goal, as a landscape designer, in my own yard has always been to try and create a cottage type garden with lots of cutting flowers and to have the yard look as good as possible year round. I am not there yet but gardening is always a work in progress, and I still have lots of space to develope. Right now it is really a matter of not having enough time to do the gardening that I want to do, so I am just making the best of what I already have, for now. What I do have is beautiful yellow roses. This yellow rose is my all time favorite, it is a David Austin Rose called Golden Celebration. I am not really a Hybrid Tea kinda girl, too stuffy for my taste, and too much maintenance. The David Austin roses have a double flower and are much shrubbier than the teas, go great with perennials and annuals and as a bonus make a great cut flower to put in arrangements. Which is my next project, trying to get better at arranging flowers. This is my first attempt this season, I only have a few flowers to work with right now but later I will hopefully have more selection. That is if I can find the time to get them cut :) If not I will just enjoy them out my windows!
