Sydney got sick again last Tuesday and has had flu like symptoms off and on until today. Since she has been sick she has mostly been laying around watching some cartoons. She has wanted me to lay with her all the time since she has been sick. Today I opened the curtains and the window since we are having such beautiful weather, (supposed to end tomorrow bummers) and I noticed what a beutiful view she has right now. You can see Mt. McCloughlin from her bed and the Euphorbia is in full bloom. The yellow of the blooms looks especially vibrant next to the red leaves of the Japanese Maple, (I think it is a Bloodgood Maple.) Euphorbias are quickly becoming one of my favorite perennials. They take little to no care, they spread out and mix quite nicely with other perennials, they are not invasive (they spread a little but are easy to control) and will take shade and some sun. Oh yeah and the best part about them is their great texture. I also have a red ones, the leaves are about the same color as the maple leaves and it has yellow flowers also. A great color contrast with my Lavendar. The other great part about them is that I can just dig a piece of this one out and transplant it to wherever I need another one. I think I just may go and do that right now!
